Benefits of Grapefruit Essential Oil: acts upon gall bladder, astringent, cellulite, digestive aid, facial toner, lymphatic stimulant, obesity, water retention
History: The Grapefruit is a fairly new fruit, and the only citrus fruit that does not originate in Southeast Asia. It was first discovered in Barbados in the 1700’s and was known as the “Forbidden Fruit.” Grapefruit is a hybrid of a pummelo (citrus grandis) and the sweet orange (citrus sinensis). It was in the 1800′s that a Jamaican farmer named it “grapefruit” for the grape-like cluster in which it grows on trees. The fruit has long been used for treating high cholesterol. It is a popular fruit because people love the flavor. The oil and seed extract are also used in the flavoring and perfume industry.
Blends Well With: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cardamom , Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Fennel-Sweet, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli (Orange Blossom), Palmarosa, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rosemary, Thyme, and Ylang Ylang.
Suggested Use:
SKIN CARE: acne, congested and oily skin, promotes, hair growth, tones the skin and tissues.
CIRCULATION MUSCLES and JOINTS: cellulitis, exercise preparation, muscle fatigue, obesity, stiffness, water retention
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: stimulates gallbladder / liver, digestive aid
NERVOUS SYSTEM: depression, headaches, nervous exhaustion, performance stress.
IMMUNE SYSTEM: chills, colds, flu
Advisory: Non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing. Some cases of skin irritation have been reported. Not to be used while pregnant unless approved by your doctor. Can cause photo-sensitivity. Do not use before exposure to sun.
