LEMONGRASS – 100% Pure Plant, Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Cymbopogon flexuosus
Parts Used: leaves (grass)
Scent Characteristics: citrus, herbaceous, and smoky
History: Lemongrass has long been used in traditional Asian medicine and in cooking, as well as skin care products and perfumes. In India, they would use the grasses for fevers and for digestive issues. They would also apply the oil to get rid of ringworm. In Thailand it is a popular flavoring for food. In Latin America, the grass is made into a tea to be used for a wide variety of issues including joint aches, respiratory infections, stomach issues, and headaches. The leaves would be chewed for toothache and the sap would be made into a compress for eye infections.
Benefits: tonic, digestive, vasodilator with anti-inflammatory properties, sedative, promotes good digestion, reduces cellulite, athletes foot, scabies, insect repellant, tones the tissues, soothes a headache, stimulates thyroid gland, psychic awareness
Blends Well With: Basil, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cedar Atlas, Clary Sage, Coriander Seed, Cypress, Fennel-Sweet,Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Sweet Marjoram, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Rosemary, Tea Tree,Thyme , Vetivert, and Ylang Ylang.
Advisory: Use with care. Must be diluted. Non-toxic, but possible dermal irritation and/or sensitization may occur in some individuals.
